New Intesis gateway makes communication between PROFINET and BACnet easy
HMS Networks announces a new Intesis™ protocol translator for communication between PROFINET PLCs on factory floors and Building Management Systems with BACnet IP/MSTP. With this, full data integration, monitoring, and control is enabled between factory floors and building facilities. Key objectives can be achieved with factory-to-building communication In factories, it is essential that environmental dimensions such as temperature, humidity, and air quality are controlled and monitored automatically to ensure optimal conditions for manufacturing and working staff. And, by ensuring efficient control of facilities such as HVAC and lighting systems, factory owners can save a lot of energy and manage emergency situations in a safe way. However, when system integrators plan…

Powerful CAN-FD multi-channel Ixxat PC-interface for automotive test systems and industrial applications
HMS Networks now extends its Ixxat® PC-interface portfolio with the multi-channel interface CAN-IB 640/PCIe that offers four channels each for CAN-FD/CAN and LIN connectivity. Modern automotive systems and complex industrial applications often include several parallel CAN and CAN-FD networks which must be connected to test, monitoring, and/or control systems at the same time. With the multi-channel Ixxat® CAN-IB 640/PCIe interface, HMS makes network connectivity and integration straight-forward and cost-efficient for users. Featuring four channels for CAN-FD/CAN and LIN connectivity respectively, the CAN-IB 640/PCIe covers the needs of most applications with only one card. And, if even more connectivity is required, several CAN-IB640/PCIe cards can be operated in parallel – a…

Increased market share for Industrial Ethernet – fieldbus decline continues and wireless stays stable
Industrial network connectivity for devices and machines is key to achieve smart connected factories. HMS Networks annual study of the industrial network market shows that Industrial Ethernet increases its market share to 64% of new installed nodes (59% last year), while fieldbuses drop to 30% (35). The leading networks EtherNet/IP and PROFINET share first place at 17% each. Wireless technologies stay at a 6% market share. HMS Networks presents its annual analysis of the industrial network market, focusing on new installed nodes within factory automation globally. As an independent supplier of solutions for industrial communication and the Industrial Internet of Things, HMS has a substantial insight into the industrial network…
