Krones reports very good first half-year 2024 – significant increase in revenue and profitability
Demand for Krones’ products and services remains robust. From April to June 2024, order intake increased by 2.9% to €1,310.2 million, exceeding the already high level of the previous year (€1,272.8 million). The contract value of orders in the first six months of 2024 increased by 0.3% over the strong prior year to €2,792.9 million. As expected, Krones’ revenue growth accelerated significantly in the second quarter of 2024 (+16.7%) compared to the first quarter of 2024 (+4.0%). Krones today held a Capital Market Day for analysts and investors The Executive Board explained the company’s strategy and presented its medium-term targets Consolidated revenue is set to increase to €7 billion by 2028 (2023: €4.7 billion). On 1 July 2024, Krones Recycling GmbH, under the management of Dr Michael Gotsche, commenced business operations with headquarters in Flensburg. The newly founded company takes over all activities relating to plastics recycling, but continues to utilise Krones‘ global production, sales and service network. At Adelholzener Alpenquellen, seven out of eight production lines with Krones technology ensure the highest standards of hygiene. New unit enhances the efficiency of closure inspection
In beverage bottling plants, the process of closing the containers constitutes a point of crucial importance for the product’s overall quality. Until now, quality-assurance solutions have used a combination of the reflected- and transmitted-light methods, but that requires quite an elaborate set-up. In order to meet more stringent quality standards and keep pace with innovative improvements like tethered caps and lightweighting while simultaneously upgrading the existing methods, Krones has developed the 360° closure inspection unit. Following its successful commissioning at the end of 2023, the final acceptance of Krones Recycling’s plant for PET and polyolefins has now taken place.
