OSMC 2020 cancelled
The Open Source Monitoring Conference (OSMC), which was planned to take place in Nuremberg, November 16 – 19, 2020, has been cancelled. “The decision is made with a heavy heart“, says Markus Neder, Head of the NETWAYS Events Team, „but dangers and consequences of Corona are currently too hard to assess.“ Holding the conference online was not an option since an online event would leave out a crucial and very important part of OSMC: meeting other monitoring experts, discussing and socializing in person. Die Open Source Monitoring Conference (OSMC), die vom 16. bis 19. November 2020 in Nürnberg hätte stattfinden sollen, ist abgesagt worden. "Wir treffen die Entscheidung schweren Herzens", sagt Markus Neder, Leiter des NETWAYS Event Teams, "aber die Gefahren und Folgen von Corona sind derzeit zu schwer einzuschätzen." Die Konferenz online abzuhalten war keine Option, da eine Online-Veranstaltung einen entscheidenden und sehr wichtigen Teil der OSMC auslassen würde: andere Monitoring-Experten persönlich zu treffen, neue Impulse vor Ort zu diskutieren und in entspannter Atmosphäre neue Kontakte zu knüpfen.
