PSR1(L)-78xxC convinces with its high efficiency and also offers a negative voltage output depending on the type. The basic advantage of a switching regulator is its high efficiency in converting the DC voltage. An analog converter partially converts the difference between input and output voltage into heat and is therefore limited in its efficiency. A switching regulator, on the other hand, can achieve a much higher efficiency.
