SES Renews Long-Term Relationship with Comcast Technology Solutions
SES today announced it will continue delivering Comcast Technology Solutions’ Managed Satellite Distribution service, formerly known as Headend in the Sky (HITS), that reaches hundreds of multichannel video programming distributor systems across the US. SES recently renewed its long-term relationship with Comcast Technology Solutions (CTS), a division of Comcast Cable that provides media and entertainment technology to advertisers, agencies and content providers. As part of a new, multi-year extension agreement, SES will be transitioning CTS’s Managed Satellite Distribution service from SES-11 at 105 degrees West to AMC-11 at 131 degrees West. M7 to Broadcast UEFA EURO 2020 in Ultra HD to Dutch Sports Fans via SES
M7 Group, a subsidiary of Canal+ and one of Europe’s leading pay-TV providers, will deliver the UEFA EURO 2020 matches live in Ultra High Definition (UHD) to Dutch subscribers of Canal Digitaal from 11 June to 11 July, following an agreement with SES and Dutch Public Broadcaster NPO. The EURO 2020 matches will be delivered live in native Ultra HD to M7 Group’s Canal Digitaal subscribers via a dedicated channel NPO1 4K, set up for the duration of the UEFA EURO 2020. SES gab heute die Unterzeichnung von Vereinbarungen mit wichtigen Infrastrukturdienstbetreibern weltweit zur Errichtung der ersten acht Bodenstationen für O3b mPOWER Satelliten bekannt. Mit dem Bau dieser technisch hochmodernen Stationen, die in der zweiten Hälfe dieses Jahres in Betrieb genommen werden sollen, wurde bereits begonnen. Die acht Standorte werden Telemetrie-, Bahnverfolgungs- und Steuerungskapazitäten für das Management der Satelliten-Konstellation durch SES bereitstellen. Außerdem werden sie genutzt, um die Satelliten nach dem Start in den richtigen Orbit zu bringen. SES a annoncé ce jour avoir signé des contrats avec de grandes entreprises de services d’infrastructures dans le monde entier pour bâtir les huit premières stations sol du système O3b mPOWER. Les chantiers de construction de ces stations d’un niveau technologique avancé ont déjà commencé, en vue d’une mise en service au second semestre de cette année. Les huit sites fourniront des capacités de communication, de télémesure, de suivi et de contrôle devant permettre à SES de gérer la constellation de satellites O3b mPOWER. SES’s Next-Gen NGSO System Readies for Launch with 8 Initial O3b mPOWER Satellite Ground Stations
SES announced today that it has signed agreements with key infrastructure service providers around the world to build its eight initial O3b mPOWER satellite ground stations. Construction has already started on these advanced technology satellite ground stations, which will become operational in the second half of this year. The eight sites will provide telemetry, tracking and control capabilities to enable SES’s management of the constellation. They will also be leveraged to raise the satellites into the right orbit after the scheduled launches. Bayerische Medien Technik GmbH (bmt) has extended its partnership with SES, the global leader in content connectivity solutions, in a multi-year agreement to continue using SES’s satellites at its prime TV neighbourhood at ASTRA 19.2 degrees East to broadcast Bavarian local TV channels in HD. bmt is a subsidiary of the Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien (BLM), the regulatory authority for new media in Bavaria, and of the Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), the Bavarian broadcasting association. bmt will continue to receive funding from the Free State of Bavaria, enabling the broadcasting of 14 free-to-air channels, including local TV stations from Munich and Nuremberg, to audiences across Bavaria. “The increasing viewership and…

Luxembourg Government and SES Launch Second Phase of Satellite-enabled SATMED Telemedicine Project
The Luxembourg Government and SES’s fully-owned affiliate SES Techcom launched the second phase of the SATMED telemedicine project that will run into 2024. Enabled by satellite, SATMED is designed to connect doctors and nurses based in remote locations to the outside medical world, providing access to the platform’s cloud applications for e-training, virtual consultations, management and storage of medical data records, and video conferencing. Developed in Luxembourg, the platform has been deployed since 2014 in 10 locations across Africa and Asia in partnership with NGOs.
