Q4/2022 (year-on-year) Sales increased by 5% to EUR 2,864 (2,719) million. Sales excluding Paper increased by 5%. Operational EBIT decreased to EUR 355 (426) million. Operational EBIT excluding Paper decreased to EUR 306 (436) million. Operational EBIT margin decreased to 12.4% (15.7%). Operating profit (IFRS) decreased to EUR 705 (839) million. EPS was EUR 0.74 (0.78) and EPS excl. fair valuations (FV) was EUR 0.32 (0.32). Cash flow from operations amounted to EUR 429 (619) million. Q1/2022 (year-on-year) Sales increased by 23% to EUR 2,798 (2,276) million. Operational EBIT increased by 53% to EUR 503 (328) million. Operational EBIT margin increased to 18.0% (14.4%). Operating profit (IFRS) increased to EUR 394 (161) million. EPS was EUR 0.37 (0.18) and EPS excl. fair valuations (FV) was EUR 0.35 (0.22). Strong cash flow from operations amounted to EUR 403 (185) million. Cash flow after investing activities was EUR 224 (-9) million. The net debt to operational EBITDA ratio improved to 1.1 (2.3). Stora Enso verkauft die deutsche Stora Enso Sachen GmbH
tora Enso Paper verkauft die Stora Enso Sachsen GmbH an ein Unternehmen der schweizerischen Model Gruppe. Die Stora Enso Sachsen GmbH stellt an ihrem Standort in Sachsen bis zu 310.000 to Rollendruckpapier auf der Basis von Recyclingpapier her. Der getroffenen Vereinbarung folgend, wird die Model Gruppe nach Abschluss der Transaktion das Werk übernehmen und betreiben. Stora Enso wird im Rahmen einer 18-monatigen Vereinbarung die hergestellten Druckpapiere vertreiben und an ihre Kunden ausliefern. Danach beabsichtigt die Model Gruppe, den Standort auf Verpackungspapiere umzustellen. Stora Enso inaugurates its renewed containerboard mill in Oulu, Finland
Stora Enso today arranged a virtual inauguration ceremony to celebrate the successful conversion of the Oulu Mill which was transformed from paper production into high-quality kraftliner production. The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, inaugurated the mill. Oulu is Stora Enso’s second successful conversion, following Varkaus Mill, inaugurated in 2016. The EUR 350 million conversion project proceeded according to plan, from the investment decision made in May 2019 to the start of the commercial deliveries in the first quarter of 2021. Stora Enso and Pulpex partner to produce fiber-based bottles on industrial scale
Stora Enso and packaging technology company Pulpex join forces to industrialize the production of eco-friendly paper bottles and containers made from wood fiber pulp. These renewable products will offer an alternative to PET plastics and glass. The exclusive partnership leverages Stora Enso’s formed fiber technologies and ability to convert end-products at an industrial scale. The joint development agreement is formed exclusively between Stora Enso and Pulpex, a sustainable packaging technology company established by Diageo (makers of Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff and Guinness) and Pilot Lite (a venture management company). Stora Enso invests in Forshaga to develop sustainable barrier solutions
Stora Enso is making an investment in dispersion barrier technology at its Forshaga site in Sweden, as a step in its innovation agenda. The investment of approximately EUR 10 million enables the development and production of paperboard with barrier properties that are easier to handle in a recycling process, have a lower carbon footprint and can be compostable in industrial facilities. The new equipment is expected to come into use during the second quarter of 2021. Stora Enso to build a pilot plant for bio-based packaging foam
Stora Enso will build a pilot facility for producing Cellufoam™ by Stora Enso, a lightweight, fiber-based foam material for protective packaging and cushioning. Bio-based foams are renewable and recyclable and can be used in packaging, for example, to replace oil-based polymer foams which are widely used today. The pilot plant will be located at Stora Enso’s Fors Mill in Sweden. Cellufoam™ by Stora Enso is a sustainable packaging material and it further increases Stora Enso’s opportunities to replace fossil-based materials with renewable and recyclable materials.
