Biomedical Device Consultants and Laboratories (BDC Laboratories) introduced its Statys® GOA software at MD&M West. This equipment-agnostic program simplifies and automates geometric orifice area (GOA) analysis in prosthetic heart valves. GOA analysis is a multi-dimensional imaging challenge because heart valve substitutes have complex geometries and perform nuanced movements. Statys® GOA is the first purpose-built software for quantitative comparison of heart valve leaflet opening area between hydrodynamic testing and accelerated wear testing. QS certification obligation for meat and meat products logistics companies
Since 01.01.2024, logistics companies that transport meat and meat products as subcontractors for QS-approved companies in the slaughtering, cutting, processing and meat wholesale sectors are also obliged to provide proof of QS certification to their clients. Due to the large number of logistics companies to be certified, QS, Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH in Bonn has set up a further transitional regulation until March 31, 2024. Seit dem 01.01.2024 sind auch Logistik Unternehmen, die als Subunternehmer für QS zugelassene Betriebe im Bereich Schlachtung, Zerlegung, Verarbeitung, und Fleischgroßhandel Fleisch und Fleischwaren transportieren, verpflichtet, gegenüber ihren Auftraggebern eine QS Zertifizierung nachzuweisen. Aufgrund der Vielzahl an zu zertifizierenden Logistik Unternehmen hat die QS, Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH in Bonn eine weitere Übergangsregelung bis zum 31.03.2024 eingerichtet. Danach müssen zu zertifizierende Logistik Unternehmen mit einer zugelassenen QS Zertifizierungsstelle einen gültigen Zertifizierungsvertrag geschlossen haben und es muss bereits ein Audit Termin vereinbart worden sein, der vor dem 31.03.2024 liegt. Food colorings are present in many foods and beverages and can be of natural or synthetic origin. If authorized, they can also be used in zootechnical applications; from a regulatory standpoint, they are classified as additives. Article 2 of Regulation (EC) 1831/2003 defines feed additives as "substances, micro-organisms or preparations, other than feed materials and premixtures, which are intentionally added to feed or water in order to perform, in particular, one or more of the functions mentioned in Article 5, par. 3".
