TOPTICA completes the acquisition of Azurlight Systems, which becomes TOPTICA Photonics SAS
TOPTICA Photonics AG has successfully closed the acquisition of Azurlight Systems SAS on 5th of May 2023 after final approval from the French government. The effective date is 1st of Jan 2023. Azurlight will continue its successful fiber laser and amplifier business under the new name TOPTICA Photonics SAS. Located in Pessac/Bordeaux (France), TOPTICA Photonics SAS also will become the French hub of the TOPTICA group, demonstrating TOPTICA´s commitment to the local photonics ecosystem, including a Joint-Lab arrangement with the LP2N Institute of Optics Aquitaine. DPG awards Prize to University of Konstanz and TOPTICA
The German Physical Society (Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, DPG) has awarded the 2023 edition of its Technology Transfer Prize to TOPTICA Photonics AG, jointly with the Chair of Ultrafast Phenomena and Photonics and the Center for Applied Photonics (CAP), both affiliations of the University of Konstanz. The award recognizes the long-standing collaboration between the partners for “the application of scientific discoveries in the field of ultrashort pulse fiber lasers, in particular the development and transfer of a passively phase-locked frequency comb”. POLYNICES project launched in Europe
POLYNICES is a research and innovation effort to provide a general-purpose photonic integration platform that meets all the cost, performance, scalability and manufacturability requirements for the next generation of photonic modules. TOPTICA wächst
Seit März empfängt TOPTICA seine Kunden und Mitarbeiter in neuen Räumlichkeiten am Standort Gräfelfing bei München. Auf über 300 m² entstand ein moderner Empfangsbereich mit Kundenlounge und Showroom sowie zwei neue, große Besprechungsräume mit modernster Präsentationstechnik. Gleichzeitig wurden weitere 2.000 m² Büro- und Laborflächen am Standort entwickelt und übernommen. In unmittelbarer Nähe des Firmensitzes wurden zudem 5.800 m² neue Produktionsflächen geschaffen. Das bestehende Gebäude wurde bereits entkernt, umgebaut und wird derzeit für die Produktion und Entwicklung vorbereitet. Es werden mehrere Reinräume zwischen 400 und 1.100 m² entstehen. TOPTICA is growing
Since March, TOPTICA has been welcoming its customers and employees in new premises at the Graefelfing site near Munich. On more than 300 m², a modern reception area with a customer lounge and showroom as well as two new, large meeting rooms with state-of-the-art presentation technology have been created. At the same time, an additional 2,000 m² of office and laboratory space was developed and opened at the site. In addition, 5,800 square meters of new production space has been created near the company’s headquarters. Am 22. Dezember 2022 hat der deutsche Laserhersteller TOPTICA Photonics AG einen endgültigen Kaufvertrag zum Erwerb der Mehrheit der Anteile an dem französischen Faserlasertechnologie-Unternehmen Azurlight Systems SAS abgeschlossen. Azurlight wird ihr Faserlasergeschäft unter dem neuen Namen TOPTICA Photonics SAS fortführen, sowie die Marke TOPTICA auf dem französischen Markt weiter ausbauen. TOPTICA acquires Azurlight Systems
As per 22nd December 2022, Germany-based laser manufacturer TOPTICA Photonics AG has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the majority of the shares of French fiber laser technology company Azurlight Systems SAS. Azurlight will continue and further foster its fiber laser business under the new name TOPTICA Photonics SAS and form the French hub of the TOPTICA brand. The parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality regarding the purchase price. The transaction is subject to the foreign direct investment (FDI) approval by French authorities.
