Hybrid Photonic Integration Platform for Sensor Technology and Analytics
The Berlin Research Alliance develops optical mini chips made of plastic. Their combination with new waveguides made of silicon nitride is now to open up completely new applications for light in analysis and sensor technology. The basis for this is provided by the development of a wide wavelength range from 400nm to 1650nm and the interaction of polymer and silicon nitride-based optical waveguides in combination with the hybrid integration capability. The performance of the PolyChrome platform will be demonstrated on six demonstrators (e.g. for analytical procedures in the fields of environment and life sciences). The core competencies of the 12 partners from the RUBIN alliance PolyChrome cover the entire value…

Record Specs
TOPTICA presents a new version of its successful time-domain terahertz (TD-THz) platform TeraFlash pro. The latest system generation, “TeraFlash pro / Dual”, not only improves the bandwidth and dynamic range further, but also enables simultaneous operation of up to two emitter-receiver pairs. Owing to an enhanced laser concept, users take benefit of even better terahertz signals: The system achieves a peak dynamic range greater than 100 dB, and a bandwidth of more than 6 THz. The “dual” version enables simultaneous measurements in transmission and reflection, or terahertz spectroscopy with orthogonal polarizations. Alternatively, users may choose to connect just one antenna pair and take advantage of the additional femtosecond-laser output for…

Focus on your research – Simplifying light microscopy
The FemtoFiber ultra 920 at an output wavelength of 920 nm is ideally suited for the two-photon excitation of common fluorophores like GFP, eGFP, Eosin, GCaMP, CFP, Calcein or Venus. In 2-photon microscopy, peak-power is brightness! If you care for the best image brightness, you need short pulses, high power, and most importantly a clean temporal pulse shape. With more than sufficient output power, shortest pulses, and our unique Clean-Pulse Technology, the FemtoFiber ultra 920 features the highest relative peak power and enables unmatched brightness in 2-photon microscopy without unwanted heating of the sample. With its robust and compact design, the FemtoFiber ultra 920 is an easy to operate and…

Fastest Commercially Available Wavelength Meter
The WS Fast series features ultra high speed measurement rates, the fastest commercially available. Excellent accuracy combined with a maximum data acquisition rate of up to 76 kHz. The WS Fast Series offers excellent accuracy combined with maximum data acquisition rate of up to 76 kHz, allowing fast dynamics in the kHz range to be directly observed. Different measurement modes enable the user to record or view the frequency behavior of the light source. External triggering allows the user to synchronize wavelength measurement with external setup by means of TTL pulses. The light sensitive sensors are prepared for measurement up to a specifiable integration time after the arrival of the…

Setting up a simple and cost-efficient 2-photon microscope for neuroscience
In this webinar, Max Eisele, Ph.D., will give an introduction to two-photon microscopy and highlight the potential of multiphoton excitation as compared to the standard fluorescence microscopy technology. Learn about the benefits of two-photon microscopy, learn about a simple two-photon microscope design, and see how easy and quick it is to set up a dedicated two-photon microscope. Use-case examples will be presented that highlight the benefits of two-photon microscopy for deep-tissue and in vivo imaging. After this basic introduction, Max Eisele will guide attendees through the setup of a simple and cost-efficient microscope, including a selection of suitable microscopy platforms, as well as an overview on suitable light sources for…
