XIMEA announces new camera models with Sony CMOS Pregius S sensors

The initial line up will start with camera models based on IMX540, IMX541, IMX542 and continue with other sensors from the Sony 4th Generation Pregius S family. To the outstanding features of the next evolution of Sony CMOS sensors belong the small pixel size in combination with BSI – backside illumination technology. The small pixel allows even the sensors with high resolution of 24.5 Mpix to stay very compact contributing to closer proximity for multi camera setups. This shrinking in size does not lead to compromises in the imaging quality which stays remarkable and at least as good as other recent Sony sensors if not higher. All of the sensors offer Global shutter readout making them ideal…

xiSpec is back! The new hyperspectral camera generation

After the intensified cooperation in the last months, XIMEA and imec have jointly developed an improved version of the xiSpec hyperspectral cameras. While maintaining the previous dimensions of the cameras of only 26.4 x 26.4 x 32 mm and a flyweight of only 32g, the camera housing and the bandpass filters have been optimized to improve the spectral performance of the cameras. Each xiSpec2 camera is individually calibrated. The new xiSpec2 camera series consist of the following models: MQ022HG-IM-SM4X4-VIS2, Spectral Range 480-625 MQ022HG-IM-SM4X4-RN2, Spectral range 600 – 860 MQ022HG-IM-SM5X5-NIR2, Spectral range 665 – 960 MQ022HG-IM-LS150-VN2, Spectral range 470 – 900 New starter kits will be offered to match the new…

The PCI Express interface for cameras flexes its muscles

The latest product from XIMEA GmbH is the MX377 camera with one of the largest sCMOS sensors available today. The Gpixel GSENSE6060 with 37.7 million 10μm pixels offers imaging performance on par with the best CCDs (finally) in a highspeed CMOS architecture. Existing CCDs have thus far remained the go-to technology for scientific measurements, in spite of being unable to match the pace of CMOS innovation. The MX377 camera delivers scientific imaging capabilities with high dynamic range and low noise – at high speed. The MX camera line utilizes a multi-lane PCIe interface which is able to deliver data at the maximum rates the sensor is capable of. The MX377…

Subminiature industrial camera with 18 Mpix and USB3 interface are released

The new model MU181 is a part of the xiMU series of subminiature cameras enhanced with the ever popular USB3 interface. It started with models based on 5 Mpix sensors using USB 2.0 interface and now XIMEA made the first units with On Semiconductor CMOS sensor providing 18 Mpix at more than 20 Fps accessible for the general public. All subminiature models of the xiMU series have the same front side housing format of 15 x 15 mm and can be equipped with S-mount lenses (M12) or C-mount through attaching a simple adapter. In case of the MU181 model the back side comes in two versions, one with USB Type-C…
